Congrats to our friends Jamie and Steve Moore! Their wedding was just published in the newest issue of Martha Stewart Weddings. You might remember me talking about their wedding here. Well, the “real” photos can finally be shared! Be sure to take a peek at this gorgeous fete, it is absolutely breathtaking, Michele M. Waite captured their day perfectly and of course, Steve and Jamie did an amazing job creating their dream day. Better yet, Steve and Jamie are a perfect match, you can tell that married life suits them perfectly. Congratulations guys!

mini kitchen remodel: part 1

We’ve been talking about doing something to update our kitchen since we moved into our house 2 1/2 years ago. At first we had grand plans of redoing the floor plan, new cabinets, counters, floors- the works. We’ve decided we’d rather save the money and spend it on our next home, but we do need to do some updating in our 1961 built kitchen.

The plan for our mini remodel is: new counters, tile (most likely) flooring, new stove top (ours is straight up from 1961), paint the current cabinets, paint the aqua wall that never turned out to be what I was hoping for. We’re also toying with the idea of tearing out a few of our upper cabinets and replacing them with open shelving. If anyone has any thoughts on the open shelving, I’d love to hear them.

I’m planning on putting together and inspiration board once we have our specific plan finished, but for now I’ll share a few photos that are serving as inspiration.

I can’t believe they’ve featured two of our weddings from last summer! Erin and Richard’s Tim Burton/circus inspired wedding was by far one of my favorites to see come together. Erin had loads of inspiration and Steve executed her vision and details to the utmost.

I had the pleasure of doing day of coordination for this event and I couldn’t have been more honored to be a part of Erin and Richard’s special day. Here is the link for the full story.

Erin designed all of the stationery and many of the details (the cake topper!), you won’t believe it when you see the photos! Here is the link to Erin’s design business, Hobson House Design, just in case you were in the market for some beautiful ephemera.

Christmas at SMD

I thought I would share a few photos of the studio at Steven Moore Designs since Steve did such a great job decorating this year! The furniture and accessories around the studio change frequently depending on Steve’s feelings and what even we’ve just had, but I think this is my favorite look by far. Here’s some eye candy for you all…

kristin & josh: lynden wedding

The wedding photos from this past summer’s wedding season are starting to come in and I just had to share some of them with you all. Elizabeth Anne Designs featured our work on Kristin and Josh’s Lynden wedding.

Kristin and Josh’s wedding was quite the affair. The ceremony was held at their church in Lynden and the reception was held in her parent’s backyard. ABC Rentals built quite the space for the reception- we used a 50′ x 140′ white tent with a custom built floor for dinner and dancing for over 400 guests. Since it rained all day the day of the wedding we added  clear top tents to cover the buffet area and another for the soft seating, bars and dessert buffet.

Kristin came to us with her favorite color- turquoise and Steve accented it with lime green and lots of white. The design was mostly modern with little punches of vintage in lanterns, votives and candlesticks.

Make sure you check out the full post on Elizabeth Anne Designs. It shows the details of the shoes, the dress, the candy buffet, everything!

We had such a blast working with Kristin and her parents. (Yes, both of them were involved, almost equally!) Despite the downpour Kristin and Josh embraced their day and made everything special. Congratulations, you two!

PS: I have never seen a bride look absolutely flawless the way Kristin did- all day- in the rain. Props to you, girl!

PPS: Michele M. Waite, thanks again for the images and somehow managing to always get our work featured out there on the blogs! 🙂 Oh, and for Kristin and Josh’s post on Michele’s blog, click here.
